Privacy policy

1. The short version

This website is a lean calling card for our work around electronic invoicing. There are no user accounts, no shopping basket, no advertising networks and no embedded third-party services. Very little data arises as a result. The three paragraphs below summarise what actually happens; the detailed version with all legal bases follows underneath.

If you are only reading

When your browser requests a page, the server records the event technically: the time, the address requested, your browser and your operating system. In addition, analytics software we run ourselves counts the visit, though with a truncated IP address, a rough indication of origin and without any cookie. This tells us which topics are in demand, not who you are. Sections 4 and 5 go into detail.

If you write to us

When you fill in the contact form or send us an email, we read what you wrote and reply to it. We use this data solely to deal with your enquiry. It is not passed on to third parties, and we do not add you to any mailing list. Section 4 explains how long we keep an enquiry.

What you can ask for at any time

You may find out which data we hold about you and request its correction or deletion. You may also object to the processing, withdraw consent you have given, and lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. An informal email is enough; our contact details are in section 3.

2. Hosting

We host the content of our website with the following provider:

Hetzner

The provider is Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany (hereinafter Hetzner).

Hetzner is used on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in presenting our website as reliably as possible. Where consent has been requested, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG, insofar as the consent covers the storage of cookies or access to information on the user's device. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Data processing agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement for the use of the above service. This is a contract required by data protection law which ensures that our website visitors' personal data is processed only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

3. General information and mandatory disclosures

Data protection

The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

Please note that data transmission over the internet, for example when communicating by email, can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Storage period

Unless a more specific storage period is stated within this privacy policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you make a justified request for deletion or withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible grounds for storing it, such as retention periods under tax or commercial law.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing, as well as to withdraw consent already given. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address line changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser.

Objection to advertising emails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published in the context of the legal notice obligation for sending unsolicited advertising and information materials.

4. Data collection on this website

Server log files

The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in server log files which your browser transmits automatically. These are:

• browser type and version
• operating system used
• referrer URL
• host name of the accessing computer
• time of the server request
• IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources. It is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of the website.

Contact form

If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form including the contact data you provide there will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent.

After submitting, you automatically receive a confirmation with a summary of your enquiry at the email address you provided. This confirmation serves solely to process your request and is sent together with the forwarding of your enquiry to us.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the fulfilment of a contract or to pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively handling enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) where this has been requested; consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Enquiry by email or telephone

If you contact us by email or telephone, your enquiry including all resulting personal data will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent.

Email dispatch

For sending emails, in particular forwarding your contact form enquiries and the confirmation to you, we use a mail server operated by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Inh. René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. The data entered in the form and the recipient address are processed in the course of this. The basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR. A data processing agreement is in place with the provider.

5. Plugins and tools

Fonts (locally hosted)

This site uses web fonts for a consistent presentation of typefaces. All fonts used are installed locally on our server and delivered from there. No connection to third-party servers takes place, and in particular no IP address is transmitted to an external font provider.

Matomo (self-hosted)

This website uses Matomo, an open-source tool for the statistical analysis of visitor access. We run Matomo on our own server in Germany. The data collected never leaves our infrastructure; no data is transferred to third parties or to third countries.

We have configured Matomo to collect as little data as possible:

• Your IP address is truncated before it is stored at all: the last two blocks are dropped entirely, so 203.0.113.195 becomes 203.0.0.0. What remains stands for an address range covering many thousands of connections. Attributing it to you, your connection or your device is no longer possible afterwards, not even for us.
• Immediately before the truncation we derive a rough indication of origin from the address: country, federal state and approximate city. The lookup runs against a database held on our own server; no request is made to an external service. The full address is kept in memory for this step only and discarded afterwards, and only the truncated version is stored. The result is an estimate and frequently differs from the actual location, particularly on mobile connections.
• Matomo sets no cookies. No information is stored on or read from your device. A consent banner under Section 25 TDDDG is therefore not required.
• The identifier used to group a visit technically is generated randomly and anew each day. Recognition across a longer period is thereby ruled out.
• Referrer addresses and user identifiers are anonymised.
• We delete the raw data automatically after 180 days. Only aggregated statistics without any personal reference remain after that.

The data recorded covers the pages visited, the time of the visit, the anonymised IP address, the rough indication of origin derived from it, the referring page, the browser and the operating system. We evaluate this information purely statistically in order to improve the website technically and editorially. It is neither merged with other data nor used to identify individuals.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in designing our offering to meet actual demand and in optimising it. You may object to this processing at any time.

If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" header, Matomo does not process your visit at all. You activate this setting in your browser's privacy preferences and need to do nothing else. An informal message to the email address named above under “Notice concerning the controller” is equally sufficient for us to exclude your visits from the analysis.

No further marketing tools

Beyond this we use no tracking pixels, no advertising networks and no social media plugins. No cookies are set for marketing purposes.
